Second-Hand Peugeot 208
Used Peugeot 208
The Peugeot 208 is a supermini that was released in March 2012 after being unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It was met with much critical acclaim and is now considered by many to be the leading car in its class. The initial range consisted of only three-door hatchback models, but in June of the same year, five-door hatchbacks were added to the range. Five petrol engines are now available. The original options were the three four-cylinder units, which are the 1.4 VTi (95bhp), the 1.6 VTi (120bhp) and the 1.6 THP (156bhp). In September 2012 two three-cylinder petrol engines were added, the 1.0 VTi (68bhp) and the 1.2 VTi (82bhp). The used Peugeot 208 can also be supplied with three diesel engine variants, the 1.4 e-HDi (70bhp), the 1.6 HDi (92bhp) and the 1.6 HDi (115bhp).
What You Get
Despite the fact that the 208 is both shorter and lower than its predecessor, it is actually bigger inside, particularly in terms of rear legroom. The boot has been expanded and now holds a fairly impressive 285 litres. The interior build quality is also much improved and even the lower trims are supplied with lots of nice soft-touch plastic. The higher trims include a leather steering wheel, which is a nice touch. On the outside, all used Peugeot 208s look the part thanks to their clever lines making it look pretty stylish.
How it Drives
The 208's handling is perfectly precise and neutral, and the small steering wheel makes it feel all the better. It's got just enough refinement to make it a good drive over long distances and its visibility and easy-to-use controls make it a very good option for urban driving. Overall, the second-hand Peugeot 208 is a great looking supermini that drives well over any distance and is cheap to run. If you are looking for a quality car that won't let you down, the Peugeot 208 is well worth a test drive.
