Second-Hand Infiniti FX
Used Infiniti FX
Back in 2003, the luxury 4x4 market was really getting into the swing of things, with Porsche releasing the Cayenne and Volvo pulling back the curtains on the XC90. It was also the year in which American buyers were first introduced to the Infiniti FX range. European customers got access in 2008 when the second generation arrived and there are now three main guises available, some of which can be picked up for a much smaller price in the range of used Infiniti FXs for sale at RAC Cars. There is a duo of petrol engines available for anyone who wants to pick up this rare and unusual SUV.
What You Get
The Infiniti FX37 is the most common of the bunch, with a V6 petrol engine giving it power and the ability to reach 62mph in just 6.8 seconds. For a more powerful V8, you should go for an FX50, which shaves off the 0-62mph time. The Infiniti FX30d is the only diesel option, with a slower 8.3 second 0-62mph time allowing it to remain competitive and also boast better fuel efficiency. There is a generous standard array of equipment, which is available on all FX models when they roll out of the factory. This includes Xenon headlights that twist to match the direction you’re pointing the steering wheel, leather upholstery throughout, cruise control, parking sensors and even a camera at the rear which lets you see how close you are to the car behind. The S trim adds 21 inch alloys and sportier seats, while the range-topping premium packing bundles in electronic braking assistance and Infiniti’s advanced media hub-come-sat nav system known as Connectiviti+.
How it Drives
As you’d expect from a modern, luxury 4x4, used Infiniti FX models are endowed with a number of intelligent driver assists that help to give you the smoothest possible experience behind the wheel. Meanwhile, the 4WD system is adaptive and well managed, sending power where it is needed and never getting in the way of making the car feel at home on urban roads and the school run.
