Second-Hand Daihatsu Terios
Used Daihatsu Terios
The original Daihatsu Terios was launched in August 1997 as a smaller, funkier alternative to the larger 4x4s available at the time. At first, just two trim levels were available, the basic model and the Daihatsu Terios+. April 1998 saw the launch of the limited edition Terios SE SE version. In August 2000, significant changes were made to the marque, including major changes to the styling and the introduction of a state-of-the-art 1.3 litre engine borrowed from the Toyota Yaris. The three members of the range are known as the E, EL and the SL. In 2003 the E model was deleted, the EL became the Tracker and the SL became the Sport. So there really is an abundance of choice of used Daihatsu Terios for sale at RAC Cars.
What You Get
This car is not an off-roader but is a sturdy and reliable compact 4x4. The Mk1 Terios just about holds four people and is fairly feature-packed for its price. The Terios+ adds air con, anti-lock brakes, alloys and several other features. The Mk2 Terios is larger and more suited to families and is also more stylish than the earlier version. The interior and display are also of a much higher quality.
How it Drives
A used Daihatsu Terios is much more suited to the urban jungle where its small size and low gearing really come into their own. The Mk2 is a much smoother ride at speed and pretty economical if driven thoughtfully. Its handling is impressive, but its larger size makes it slightly less-suited to urban driving. Overall, this car is a very good value compact 4x4 option.
