Second-Hand Chevrolet Lacetti
Used Chevrolet Lacetti
The word Chevrolet isn't necessarily synonymous with terms such as 'small' and 'compact', but the American car giant has done an impressive job in rescuing this promising hatchback. The Chevrolet Lacetti has plenty to offer in this market and combines the best of small vehicle efficiency with Chevrolet style. The Chevrolet Lacetti was originally introduced by Daewoo in 2002. While the main model was a four-door, 1.4 or 1.6-litre hatchback, the hasty rebadging led to a whole series of new models. In total, there are six, very different versions of the Chevrolet Lacetti from the basic 1.4 up to an impressive 2.0-litre Station Wagon. The car was a genuine success, but production stopped in most parts of the world in 2008. However, the Lacetti name is still used in Russia and other eastern European countries.
What You Get
Chevrolet partnered with Italdesign on the project and the styling is in keeping with far more expensive vehicles. The two companies had collaborated previously to good effect and the looks both inside and out are one of the used Lacetti's best selling points. The other main benefit is the room and with a wheelbase of 2,600mm, this comfortably outstrips the majority of vehicles in the compact class. Space for the driver, passengers and luggage is therefore particularly good on all models within this range.
How it Drives
It may be a Chevrolet but the Lacetti is a compact, so don't expect too many thrills. It is, however, an efficient and responsive vehicle that drives so much better than the majority in its respective class. It's a rare beast with an odd history, but for this style of vehicle, it's also well worth considering. There are plenty of second-hand Chevrolet Lacetti cars for sale with RAC Cars, so be sure to grab yourself a good deal.
