Outstanding Service.
After having issues with other garages in the past i decided to wait to leave a review to see how the car was over the 8 months of having it. Although its quite an old car and has had some slight problems James and his team stretched their necks out and helped us resolve every little problem. James is a gentle giant with a big heart and Ray the mechanic is down to earth and as friendly as they come. The rest of the staff are friendly and polite and make you feel comfortable. If only every car dealership was like this the industry would be a better place. These guys are amazing and i would highly recommend them to anyone. If you have any issues they are very understandable and willing to resolve anything without any hard feelings. I would buy a used car from them again without a shadow of a doubt. Brilliant ! I live in Castle Douglas near Dumfries and due to the distance, I had to be sure the vehicle was going to meet my expectations and the same for my trade in, James Wrights had not seen my trade in car and on my word gave me a very fair price. I've been in the motor trade 35 + years, it makes a nice change to deal with some one who is honest! I set myself a 100 mile limit to find a vehicle but after seeing one of James Wrights ultra clean cars i decided to give him a ring. After speaking to him i could tell he was a man of his word and travelled 175 miles to see the vehicle. I wasn't disappointed, i drove my purchased car home a couple of hours later. From the moment I called James I knew I was in safe hands. I had just left a main dealership feeling disappointed and let down after viewing a VW Golf I was interested in and being told I was too late to test drive it and there was zero movement on price. I immediately remembered seeing a VW Golf online at James Wright Cars Ltd I was also keen to see. I called James and even out of hours he arranged for me to come and see the car. On arriving the car had been cleaned and placed in the drive for me. James greeted me with a test drive and answered all of my questions and concerns fully. He was honest, pointing out minor imperfections even I hadn't noticed. He was willing to come to a deal and I purchased the Golf for a very fair price. Post purchase I encountered one minor issue which James immediately resolved without resistance. I have just brought a volvo xc90 from this dealer after reading about it on auto trader. The review on this car was to good to be true but after traveling 150 miles to see the said vehicle, I was very pleased to find the car was as advertise and in a fanatic condition. The dealer was a fellow petrol head and went out of his way to explain every part of this car and go through all the history in detail. To sum up this dealers adverts are 100% accurate with all information about his cars and the the cars are finished to perfection with nothing hidden a generally honest dealer hard to find these days. Great, honest and reliable dealer
I recently purchased an Audi TT from James Wright Cars. Being located in Essex, I was at the other end of the country to where the car was located. I did some research on the other reviews and being then being more comfortable, I called James about my future purchase. James seemed really honest about the car and explained at great length the cars history etc and didn't try to hide the fact that the front wings had been repainted at some point, and that the wheels ideally need to be refurbished. Having discussed the car's history and the HPI check, I then agreed to buy the car over the phone and put down a deposit. James also said that if on seeing the car, I was not happy with it in any way, he would refund the deposit - fair enough! When first seeing the car in the flesh, James walked me through everything (including the bodywork and where the car had been repainted). Very pleased with the whole buying experience and the honesty shown throughout. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!

Buying a Porsche 911 from James Wright
It requires a tremendous amount of trust when buying a car unseen and from another country. James Wright had a Porsche 911 for sale that seemed like the car for me. Being based in France during Covid restrictions I couldn't get to them and I knew no-one in the area to visit either. So, relying solely on the information given and on conversations with James, I handed over the money and trusted my instincts on the purchase. Well, all I can say is that James Wright and his colleagues were absolutely straight and true. All details about the car were correct, all the information I had been given was true and it is fair to say that they went beyond the call of duty in providing every minute detail I asked for. The car was prepared beautifully, to within an inch of it's life - that is to say that they made a tremendous effort to make the car look like new - it was 11 years old. Wheels were removed and wheel arches made immaculate. Honestly , the service was quite frankly impeccable.

Firstly this is a genuine buyer review I (like you) am suspect of overly ‘glowing’ reviews on line! I’d just like to thank James for his help, patience and attention to detail which made my purchase of Jeep Grand Cherokee stress free and pleasant experience. The transaction was ‘click and collect’ due to the current COVID restrictions and also my distance from James’ location. I was given a very accurate and honest appraisal of the car backed with hi res photos from the website. This gave me the assurance I need to pay a deposit and arrange finance before calling to collect he car. The trade in price for my car was very fair and his assessment very pragmatic . On collecting the car my expectations were exceeded in terms of how the car was presented it all looked almost new, every minor flaw in the bodywork had been sorted to an extremely high standard. At no point during the process did I feel pressured or manipulated to close the deal.

After much time spent researching I contacted James Wright Cars about a well presented BMW 330 Touring for sale at the end of 2020. As I was travelling from Northern Ireland it was reassuring to discuss with James on the phone at length about the car prior to making any travel plans. After arranging travel I was picked up at Liverpool airport a few days later by James and when we arrived at the premises the car was absolutely as described - very well specced, in pristine condition and presented perfectly. A warm welcoming atmosphere from James, his wife and Ray (fellow irishman!) with a test drive followed by a painless purchase which was carried out with 100% competence, confidence and patience (particularly while I got my insurance sorted).
