By raccars Published

Details have been released of the drivers and cars due to star in this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, featuring a roster of names from F1, WRC and Le Mans, both past and present. The event will also be attended by celebrity auto fans, including Hollywood star, Peter Fonda and television and radio presenter, Chris Evans.

Formula One will feature strongly in the famous hillclimb event, with Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes, Lotus, Caterham and Marussia all attending. A selection of current F1 stars, such as Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Max Chilton, Roman Grosjean, Jules Bianchi, Marc Gene, Sebastian Buemi, Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Newey, will also be present. The Grand Prix winners' roster will be filled out by earlier champions, such as Alain Prost, Sir Stirling Moss, Nelson Piquet, John Surtees, Sir Jackie Stewart, Nick Heidfeld, Emerson Fitipaldi, Jochen Mass and Rene Arnoux. Between them, the all star line up has accumulated an amazing 232 Grand Prix wins.

This year marks the Festival of Speed's 20th anniversary, leading to a series of special celebratory events including a repeat of the 1999 occasion, when a Nick Heidfeld piloted McLaren MP4/13 set an unbroken record Goodwood Hill time of 41.6 seconds. In July, Heidfeld will attempt to break that record in the very same car he used originally.

The rally world will also be represented with appearances by Andreas Mikkelsen in a VW Polo WRC, along with Spaniard, Carlos Sainz, two time World Champion. A Citroen DS3 WRC will also take part in the Goodwood Forest Rally Stage, driven by Mikko Hirvonen. Also reliving the moment of glory will be Juha Kankkunen, Rauno Altonen, Bjorn Waldegard, Jimmy McRae, Russell Brookes and Hannu Mikkola.

Fans of other motorsport disciplines will enjoy appearances by representatives from NASCAR, Indycar, Superbikes, World Sports Cars and Touring Cars, in addition to Land Speed Record champions.

Running from 11th-14th July from 7am daily, tickets to the festival are available to the general public and some grandstand seats remain, but visitors will be able to get up close to their autosport heroes during the event, as all participating drivers can be seen on the BlackRock Drivers Club walkway.

Apart from the aforementioned special guest appearances by Chris Evans in a Ferrari and Peter Fonda with a Captain America Chopper, celeb fans can see Olympian, Chris Hoy, in a Jaguar and TV chef, James Martin, in a Mini Cooper S.
