Paris Motor Show 2014: Ford S-Max

By raccars Published

Ford’s excellent S-Max MPV has been updated for 2015, bringing it in-line with the already launched Ford Focus hatchback and the C-Max and Grand C-Max models, also unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 2014.

It’s gained a more aggressive appearance than its predecessor (with that Aston Martin grille) and a revised engine line-up.

Ford’s new 160hp 1.5-litre four-cylinder Ecoboost turbo petrol engine joins the range, while there’s also a 240hp 2.0-litre turbo petrol for dads who want to scorch the school run. There’ll also be a new offering of diesels, for those a little more economy-minded – although exact figures are yet to be confirmed.

Like the rest of the Ford range, the S-Max’s interior has faced a de-cluttering with fewer switches, and more storage space. There’s still room for seven, but the all-new S-Max offers up to 32 different seating and load space configurations.

We expect a small increase over the current entry-level car’s £23,310 price tag to reflect the extra equipment on offer when the S-Max goes on sale in the UK in spring 2015.
