Olympics To Disrupt UK Car Industry?

By raccars Published

The London Olympics look set to disrupt the UK’s car industry, according to the National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA).

“It is likely that there will be some further disruption and uncertainty in the coming few months,” said NAMA committee member Tony Gannon.

“Given that auction inventories are similar to this point last year, it would be logical to expect further erosion in prices until mid to late August,” he continued.

“It is important to note that this is nothing unusual as it is a feature of the market most years.”

It’s unwelcome news for the industry after a strong few months in which it seemed the uncertainty of the last few years were becoming something of a memory.

There’s no doubting the Olympics’ economic positivity, but will it hurt the car industry like the NAMA believe it will?
