Mini Paceman Revealed Prior to Paris Unveiling

By raccars Published

Mini lift the sheets off the new Paceman model prior to its Paris Motor Show unveiling later this month.

Pictures released are of the production ready model, a two-door coupe version of the current Countryman. The Range Rover Evoque rival will be available in two and four-wheel drive with a range of different engines.

From launch date, the Paceman will be available in four different engine formats. The petrol powered Cooper and Cooper S models will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6 litre engine, producing 120 and 181bhp between them.

Diesels will also be available in 1.6 litre formats, producing 110bhp in Cooper D spec and 141bhp for the Cooper SD.

Fuel efficiency is a massive plus for the diesel models. A staggering 61.4mpg and 122g/km of CO2 is quoted for the Cooper SD model. Even the range topping Cooper S petrol can achieve 46.3 mpg and 143g/km of CO2.

Suspension set-ups on the Paceman have improved the ride from the Countryman, creating a more direct and sporty feel. Although the Paceman has been lowered all round to achieve this, customers can retain the Countryman's ride height at no extra cost.

All models come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with the option of a six-speed automatic at an extra cost.

The Paceman will be available from March 2013 and will be priced from £18,970 for the base spec Cooper.
