Arundel Castle in West Sussex re-opens to visitors for the summer season at the end of this month, and kicks off a summer of classic car events on Sunday 19 April, with a meeting of the Chichester MG Owners' Club.

The Club's annual rally is a great chance for classic car fans to get up close to more than 150 MGs from the 1920s right up to the modern MGF. The gathering will be held on the Lower Lawns area of the castle grounds, where MG owners will be happy to chat to visitors about their vehicles.

The castle has introduced three new events for classic car fans this year. Next up is Jaguar Day on Sunday 5 July, hosted by the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club's West Sussex Region. The Club invites owners of Jaguars and Daimlers to join the group, with entry from 9.30am to 11am. This should be a great day out for fans of Jaguars or Daimlers and classic cars in general, featuring some genuinely classic examples of the brand and some stunning, shiny new supercars. Again the owners will be on hand to talk about the models on display. The event finishes at 5pm.

The following weekend, on Sunday 12 July, the castle will host its first Classic Cars Gathering on the Lower Lawns, featuring a variety of vintage classics and sports cars, dating from the early days of motoring to more recent, popular classics. Car owners and visitors are welcome to join and view the display of some 300 vehicles.

On Sunday 9 August, MGs are in the spotlight again for the MG Car Club SVW Register. This part of the club focuses specifically upon SA, VA and WA type MGs, from 1936-1939.The Lower Lawns of the castle will again be used to display 30 or 40 of these serious classics and, as usual, owners will be happy to talk about the marque and their own models.

Visitors to the events will be able to enjoy the castle and its gardens, including a shop, cafe and restaurant. Alternatively, feel free to take a picnic! These events make great family days out, and there's plenty to see at the 11th Century castle and particularly its themed gardens, for members of the party who are less enthusiastic about cars. Other historical events, including a castle siege and International Joust Week, will also be held at Arundel this summer.
