2013 New Car Arrivals Snapshot

By raccars Published

There's a wonderfully interesting array of cars on the way as the year progresses, a mixture of exclusive supercars and mass-market favourites. Here are some of the most keenly anticipated releases, both new models and updated versions of old favourites.

Alfa Romeo has the hot new 4C due in Autumn, but in the meantime, the Mito will get a Summer facelift and the Giulietta gets its turn for the same at the end of the year.

Aston Martin's Vanquish Volante should be around in time to make a very expensive Christmas present for supercar fans, or alternatively, Bentley is well prepared for Summer with the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, then the new Flying Spur ushering in the Winter months. The Bugatti Veyron Ultimate will gladden the hearts of footballers everywhere by Autumn, along with the cheesily named Ferrari LaFerrari.

The big Germans have a busy year programmed. Summer brings us the Audi RS6 Avant, followed by the RS7 in Autumn and the Q3 RS and A3 Saloon for Winter, while the BMW Z4 facelift is imminent, followed by the 3 Series GT next month. Summer will see the M6 Gran Coupe and the BMW year will be bookended by the X5, the 4 Series, the i3 and a facelift for the 5 Series.

Chevrolet continues its assault on the European market with a facelifted Spark and a new Camaro this month, a Corvette Stingray for Summer, then the new Malibu in Winter. Citroen's C3 gets an update for Summer, then we get the C4 Picasso later in the year and Fiat continues to build upon its 500 brand with the 500L Trekking and 500XL at the end of Summer.

Some of the big names are fairly quiet so far this year, or simply playing their cards very close to their chests. There's a Ford Focus EV, a Honda CR-V 1.6 diesel and a Toyota Auris Touring Sports announced to date.

VW's year is mostly taken up by various Golfs, plus the new Beetle Cabriolet, the Up GT and the XL1 later on. Similarly, stablemate Seat is focusing on its Leon and that other VW offshoot, Skoda, has a couple of versions of the Octavia and a facelift for the Superb this Summer.

Renault's Clio RS 200 Turbo will add a smile to many a boy racer's face in May, while the Captur and Zoe cover more sensible requirements in June and the other French biggie, Peugeot, has a couple of 208s for June, the 2008 in September and the RCZ R just before Christmas.
