New Volkswagen Passat

The new Passat is bigger than it was before, whilst also possessing superior dynamics and efficiency

Sleek surfaces, graceful lines and elegant curves all come together effortlessly in the Volkswagen Passat. The cabin is designed with the same upmarket feel of the exterior, featuring a stylish and simple dashboard, brushed chrome accents, and high-quality materials. Plush seats and plenty of leg and shoulder room at the rear enhance the level of comfort even further, with higher-end trims adding more luxury to the design.

The range of diesel engines ranges from the entry-level 1.6-litre BlueMotion, to the the 2.0-litre with 128 or 187bhp. At the top sits the impressive 237bhp twin-turbo 4MOTION diesel that can get from 0 to 62mph in 6.1 seconds. Designed to offer a superior driving experience compared to the previous version, the new Passat handles winding roads with grace thanks to minimal body lean, accurate steering and plenty of grip. A six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, but there's also an optional twin-clutch automatic gearbox available. There are four Passat trims available, but even the entry-level S model gets air-conditioning, Bluetooth, digital radio, alloy wheels, and a 6.5inch touchscreen. Further up the ladder, the GT version receives heated seats trimmed in Alcantara suede and leather, as well as ambient lighting, whilst the top-of-the-range R-line trim features a sportier interior. Extras can also be added to increase the level of comfort or the functionality of the car.

Not surprisingly, the 1.6-litre BlueMotion diesel engine is the most frugal with a claimed 76mpg and emissions of 95g/km, which equates to no road tax. The hybrid Passat GTE returns 176.5mpg and emits just 35g/km of CO2. The new Passat comes with a five-star rating from the Euro NCAP crash tests and has plenty of standard equipment, including multiple airbags, autonomous braking that prevents low-speed collisions, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes and a driver fatigue detection system.

Perfect for Fleets, Executives & Families The new Volkswagen Passat is extremely versatile and will suit a vast range of drivers. The stylish and sleek design makes the car ideal for fleets and executives, whilst the very spacious cabin and the various safety features will be appreciated by those looking for a high-end family vehicle that exudes elegance.
