New Toyota Prius

New Toyota Prius

The world-leading hybrid makes use of a very fuel efficient engine, with a refined drive and a spacious interior to boot

The Prius features a combination of conventional and more unique styling – although not quite as original as it once was due to the implementation of similar designs by competitors. Regardless, the Prius is still a very appealing streamlined shape, with vertical taillights, chrome fins and the optional glass roof helping to give it a stylish look. Inside of the hatchback, you’ll find a cabin that is solidly built, and an abundance of space. The Toyota Prius has no qualms about carrying five people, and includes plenty of head and legroom across the board, especially given the floor is flat at the back. The boot is also a good size too.

At lower speeds, the Prius can run entirely on electric power for short amounts of time; the plug-in variant can also go just over 15 miles at speeds of up to 51 mph, although they cope fairly well on faster roads too, switching seamlessly between petrol and electric power. The Prius benefits from light steering, which suits its town-based demeanour very well, whilst its body leans very minimally during corners, making manoeuvres simple. The Synergy Drive that forms the Prius’s drivetrain is a dual 98bhp petrol engine and a 36bhp electric motor, giving it a combined 134bhp, and a 0-62 time of 10.2 seconds. All Prius models include air conditioning, electric windows, and a heads-up display, whilst higher trim levels also include keyless entry, cruise control, Bluetooth and more. There are also a large amount of airbags that come with the Prius, with the front, side and curtains covered, plus anti-whiplash headrests and stability control. Premium options include leather seats, which come in at a price of £1500, and the Technology pack.

Safety & Economy

Exclusive to the T-spirit trim, the Technology Pack supplies adaptive cruise control, automatic parking and emergency braking.

Perfect for Fleets and Families The Toyota Prius remains a staple Hybrid vehicle, despite its high asking price – running costs help to offset the initial payment, and as a company car, it excels, especially for short trips that can be completed entirely on electric power.
