New Audi TT

The TT is one of Audi’s most well-known vehicles, and for good reason. In terms of a coupe, there are very few as impressive as the TT. Great looks, performance and efficiency make the TT a very well-rounded car.

The TT has always been a beautiful car; however its styling has steadily progressed into something a little more aggressive, yet still as distinct as when it first came out. The tweaks to the design evoke feelings of the new generation of Audi models, with sharper, streamlined detailing and leaner body proportions. Despite these changes, there remains a number of cues that long-time TT fans will recognise immediately. Audi’s impeccable cabin design continues in the TT, with a build that revolves around the Virtual Cockpit system – a high resolution LCD display that incorporates a number of dials and readouts for a refined, minimalist look, as well as a number of functions, such as media and car settings. The TT also contains a great deal of boot space, especially when the rear seats are folded down.

Whilst the TT has always provided both driving enjoyment and practicality, the latest version has a greater emphasis on the driving experience. With a construction created primarily from aluminium, Audi’s Space Frame Technology allows for an exceedingly light vehicle. As a result, the TT feels a lot more like a sports car, and combined with the progressive steering system, handling is very intuitive. The light but weighted steering provides a great sense of agility, which can also be tweaked, along with the throttle response and shift speeds thanks to the Drive Select System. The TT’s engines are all turbocharged, with the 2.0 litre TFSI having enough muscle to move the TT from 0-62 in just six seconds, whilst higher spec models (such as the S line or TTS) take over a half second less. The eco-friendly Ultra diesel engines offer low emissions and excellent acceleration, with performance only marginally less than the petrol equivalent. The entry-level trim includes standard features such as xenon headlights, air conditioning, DAB radio, Bluetooth and leather seats. The S line trim also gets LED lights, upgraded bodykit and alloys. Additional extras such as parking sensors, sat nav and cruise control are also available. The technology package adds traffic information via Google Maps, music streaming and internet connectivity – which can actually be added at any time thanks to the nature of the Virtual Cockpit.

The efficiency of the TT means fuel tax and bills are reduced greatly, whilst the Ultra models are even better for money saving. Audi also offers fixed price servicing deals, which can cut repair costs considerably. The TT’s upfront cost is a little higher than some of its competitors, but the popularity of this car means depreciation is exceptional.

Perfect for Couples and Driving Enthusiasts The TT has a track record of being one of the best Audi models, and it is easy to see why. Sporty performance, practicality, great looks and cheap upkeep make it a very attractive proposition. Now with a variety of added technology and an optimised build, the TT is ideal for most types of drivers.
