The Audi R8 supercar has always been underpowered, hasn’t it? 550bhp, are they kidding? Well, Audi has apparently listened… and not changed a thing. What they have done, however, is give the R8 a new twin-clutch transmission, meaning 0-62mph times for both the V8 and V10 models drop dramatically. The V8’s sprint speed has gone from 4.6 to 4.3 seconds, while the big V10’s has fallen from 3.9 to 3.6 seconds.
Other changes, as per usual, include different LED headlights and other boring exterior changes nobody will ever notice, but does the addition of a new gearbox make you want one more? There’s no denying the R8 is a looker, so with that improve acceleration will it tempt more buyers into going German?
Time will tell.
