New Toyota Verso

Having been upgraded with a new facelift, the Toyota Verso not only looks better but has received various tweaks to its suspension, steering and engines

The front end of the Verso has been changed to match many of Toyota’s newest models in terms of style. The front in particular has a more daring look about it, with swept-back lights and an almost aggressive grille orientation. The inside of the Toyota Verso is, as the name suggests, versatile. The middle row of seats can be slid, folded and reclines separately, whilst the third row allows boot space to expand substantially when folded down. Space is generally good in the Verso too, whilst the cockpit is designed to make getting comfortable easy for the driver – the high-set seat, adjustable steering wheel and raised gearstick is perfect.

Whilst the Verso’s steering isn’t the best in the class, it does have enough accuracy to make use of the substantial amount of grip on offer. The Verso has easy to use dynamics and offers good comfort during trips, managing to fulfil both criteria most MPV owners want – it is comfortable when both cruising along in town or sailing down the motorway. The Verso also has no problem dealing with larger bumps on the road, and its firmer suspension makes sure body movement is kept under control. Electric front windows, air conditioning and hill-start assist are included with entry-level models, whilst the Icon trim also gets access to 16-inch alloys, climate control, Bluetooth, electric windows, DAB radio, cruise control and more. There are also seven airbags in the event of a collision.

In terms of safety options, there is stability control and seven airbags (including one for the driver’s knees).

Perfect for Families The Toyota Verso is durable, versatile and benefits from competitive running costs. Its rearrange-able interior makes it perfect for busy families on trips or for general travel.
