New Hyundai i30

Hyundai’s i30 is a well-rounded hatchback, with a blend of space and frugal running costs that make it perfect for families. The i30 also possesses standout looks, a sophisticated interior and enjoyable driving dynamics.

Sculpted accents and elongated detailing on the front ensure that the new Hyundai i30 stands out almost anywhere. The delicate yet sharp creases are reminiscent of an origami model, whilst the LED running lights add both sparkle and functionality to the exterior. Inside the cabin, there are plenty of soft-touch plastics and high-quality materials, with the chrome-ringed controls adding a contemporary touch to the design.

Engines range from a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol to two diesels with two power outputs each. New engines have been added in 2015, most notably the 183bhp in the iTurbo car that can complete a 0-62mph sprint in 8 seconds. The new i30 handles well on the road, with plenty of grip and little body roll through sharper turns, whilst the supple chassis and the good suspension offer added comfort. An impressive range of standard features add excellent value to the i30. Even the entry-level S trim comes with a multifunction steering wheel, USB and auxiliary ports, stereo audio system, and Bluetooth with voice recognition. The higher-spec models also have a touchscreen sat nav with a convenient Traffic Message Channel feature that helps drivers avoid traffic jams.

The i30 provides various safety features and a five-star rating from Euro NCAP crash. Every i30 car is equipped with six airbags, hill-hold assistance, ISOFIX child-seat anchoring points, electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes, plus more. Of all engines, the most frugal is the 108bhp 1.6-litre diesel, that returns 78.4mpg and emits under 100g/km of CO2 – equalling £0 road tax. Conclusion > Perfect for Small Families & Professionals The new Hyundai i30 features an elegant cabin and a stylish exterior that combine with fantastic safety features and efficient engines. The car performs well both around town and on the motorway, and will suit various drivers.
